Norm Olsen

Welcome and thanks for visiting the Hundred Hole Hike site. My name is Norm Olsen and like most of us hikers I am way too obsessed with the game of golf. I was born and raised in Chicago and was introduced to golf by my dad at the age of 8. Since that day when I first picked up a club I have spent countless hours trying to master this crazy and at times frustrating game. Although my handicap has been on a gradual incline since high school I am privileged to have met many outstanding people along the way. Three years ago I was introduced to Jim Colton, the founder of OneDivot and the Hundred Hole Hike. Jim has provided all of us hikers with the opportunity to do what we love most and support a special cause during the process. I successfully walked and played 108 holes in one day last year for the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund and I plan on raising the stakes this year. With your support of DMSF I am going to attempt to hike 144 holes in one day. That is 45+ miles, 640+ swings, 18+ hours on my feet and a bunch of blisters, aches and pains. I can promise you that I will not be able to achieve this goal without your encouragement. Please help me support DMSF and together lets provide a few underpriviliged Chicagoland scholars with the education they deserve.

144 Holes, Why Not?

So I've decided to make the Hundred Hole Hike even more arduous than it already is by raising my goal from 108 holes to 144 holes.

108 Holes Later

I have officially completed the Hundred Hole Hike and am proud to announce that I achieved my goal of walking 108 holes in 1 day!

Training/Prep Update

I am getting a late start at the HHH training/preparation but from here on its go time. The first few days of HHH preparation have been quite a success.
