Ben Sims

Hi! My name is Ben Sims and I am a Hundred Hole Hiker. Being friends with Jim Colton means that not only do I get to have an itinerant golfer and all around great guy as a friend, but I am inspired to do great things along with him. I am hiking for the Troops First Foundation. As a Captain and Pilot in the US Air Force, I have had the honor of flying with our soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen. I have brought home wounded warriors and returning heroes as a mobility pilot. Initiatives designed to inform and inspire our warriors is the primary goal of the Troops First Foundation. I can think or no better cause!

Troops First Foundation

Troops First Foundation develops, operates and supports a synergistic group of wellness, quality of life and sports-based initiatives in support of today's military personnel. In addition, these T1F initiatives facilitate a greater recognition and an enhanced understanding of the quality and character of the men and women who volunteer to serve, their families, their daily sacrifices and the constant need to evaluate and improve their quality of life. Both non-injured and injured military personnel and their families are served at no cost to them by T1F’s strategically integrated quality of life, sports-based and wellness initiatives.

Operation Proper Exit

In 2005 Rick Kell, Co-founder and Executive Director of Troops First Foundation, made a trip to Walter Reed Army Medical Center that would change his life.

To whom much is given...

Being a friend of Jim Colton's has its drawbacks. Let's get real here, other than the occasional invite to a great place like Ballyneal, you have to hand it to the guy for making us all look bad.
